I’ve been a busy bee, working on some BIG updates for the site. Some things you can look forward to in the next few weeks:

• Fresh new look
• Less blog (which I never have time to update) and more Chinese learning goodness
• Improved Ajax-driven dictionary
• Better pinyin converter (I am aware the Pinyin rules are incorrect in the current version)
• And several other top-secret goodies

Once the new site is stable enough, I’ll do the switchover.
It’ll be the best Fozza.com ever!

As promised, the latest version of my Chinese-English-Pinyin dictionary is now online!

The new version brings you the following juicy features:

• You can search in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese and Pinyin
• Simplified search form, with optional advanced options
• Bigger, easier to read Chinese text
• Display Chinese text as simplified or traditional
• Display Chinese text as images if you don’t have a Chinese font installed
• Chinese words comprising more than one character can be split into individual characters
• You can “pop out” words to display them in a separate window
• You can view word details, showing you both simplified and traditional characters together
• Words drawn from the latest version of the CEDICT
• Cleaner, easier to read display of search results
• Major performance enhancements in the database, resulting in quicker searchers

There are more features in the pipeline which will be announced as they are completed. I hope you like the new version, but do leave comments if you have any suggestions.

Fozza.com has now been successfully moved to the new server. It may take a while for everyone to see the new site while DNS propagates through the ether.

All email accounts are live on the server - if you can’t login, contact me for your new login details.

I am in the process of removing obsolete content left over from before the re-design, so if you see any “page not found” errors, make sure your bookmarks are up to date.

As per my previous post, Fozza.com is now in the process of moving to the new server.

The new server will be an exact mirror, so there should be very little noticeable difference initially. However, later today the Chinese dictionary will close and my new V3 dictionary will be activated. This may result in “page not found” errors for a few hours today.

I will post again when the move is complete. See you on the other side
